Let the blogging begin!

Hello friends!!

Nick and I made it safe to San Diego in our amazing new apartment! Things have been pretty busy since we got here so I haven't had time to post all the pictures of our adventure until tonight. We took a slight detour to Sante Fe, New Mexico-the coolest city I've ever seen- MUST go back. If you ever get a chance to go, eat at Cafe Pasquals- very unique organic mexican place. And of course we had to spend a day/night in Las Vegas! Nick and I got a pet-friendly suite at Mandalay Bay, had delicious sushi at a restaurant in the hotel and then an interesting night on Las Vegas Blvd. --Of course knowing me I left my wallet in Sante Fe at the restaurant and didn't realize until sushi in Vegas. Luckily the server didn't mind, but for anyone who has been to Vegas they are VERY strict getting drinks. Nick was a trooper and we just had to be sneaky and buy very big AND strong drinks at a time. Made it interesting, but still tons of fun. The manager at Cafe Pasquals was awesome and over nighted my wallet to the apartment- $300 in Target gift cards, $50 check and $100 in cash all still there :)

Aside from the adventurous four day road trip, the time here in San Diego has been even more fantastic! As we drove in we saw tons of gorgeous mountains- I had no idea that we would still have such amazing views of the mountains when we got here. Ten minutes from beaches and mountains? Yes, I can get used to this! Right across the street from Fashion Valley Mall and Target. Hell Yes. I can get used to this! Nick and I have spent a lot of time exploring and have found some really awesome places, beaches and bars. Mission Beach has been the best I think, not as crowded and a great little picnic spot as we found out. Coronado Beach is for sure next on the list to check out.

Pictures will have to come after I find a solution to uploading my pictures on iphoto. Apparently from the forum on Apple I'm not the only one who has had these problems. I guess I will have to pray to Steve Jobs tonight to fix this!

The furniture should arrive tomorrow- a little bit of delay, but builds up anticipation to get everything in and decorate. Which of course is the most exciting part. Nick and I checked out a cool furniture consignment store today for some new furniture ideas. Hopefully we can go back soon and make some purchases, we saw some really neat pieces. Of course I'd rather just go to thrift stores or pick up some stuff on curbs and refinish them. I need to find some good places here for thrifting. And thanks to some awesome blogs I've got some really great ideas for diy home decor. Just wishing I could stay at home all day and spend all my time & our money doing these :)
